In a recent interview with the BBC, Michael Carrick spoke about his relationship with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe but more importantly, revealed his ideal vision for what he wants at United next season.

This is going to make a lot of fans happy!

‍

The new permanent boss said this for his plans for 26/27:

"Winning, exciting football is what comes to mind. "There are all sorts of different ways to get there but a version of winning and exciting football. There's a responsibility to try and produce both."

While there was more to the interview, this was the thing that stood out to me more than anything else.

‍

Many times, I've stated that I am a Carrick doubter. Even now after achieving what he achieved as interim, which I think nobody saw coming, I still have my question marks over him as boss.

But where I will give him some leeway is in the fact that he hasn't gotten the players he wants, there's been no pre-season yet, and he will take charge of his first season next season. Only once these things happen can we and specifically those like myself, can we truly judge him.

This does make me feel better for the future with Carrick. These quotes along with CEOΒ Omar Berrada saying that the club intend to win the league in the next couple of years means that they are putting pressure on themselves. There's nowhere to hide and there is accountability if they don't deliver - which is a HUGE positive.

But what are your thoughts on these comments by Michael Carrick?Β If you are a doubter as well, does this make you feel better about next season or not?

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
