My brother got me a bottle of gin. I think that that is perfect for this game.

What was that?!

Or should I be this surprised?

United United-ing again as they drop an absolute stinker after Christmas after dropping an absolute stinker before Christmas.

0 goals scored, 5 conceded, no wins, no points and we’ve dropped to 14th in the table.

And that’s just the good parts.

Ruben Amorim has conceded 19 goals in his 10 matches, has won just four, lost five, lost his last three in a row, suffered his second set of back-to-back defeats in the league, had his captain sent off (his third red of the season), has his best player at the moment (Ugarte) suspended for the visit of Newcastle, has issues off the field with big players.

Oh, and our next three games?

Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal 🙃.

This defeat to Wolves was another pathetic display from United in which the flat start set the tempo, a tempo that never got going, for the umpteenth time.

Amorim was in desperate need of a win and performance as other than a formation alteration, not much has changed in his 10 matches from Erik ten Hag. In fact, United were in 13th when the Dutchman was sacked. We're now in 14th.

There really wasn’t much to discuss in this game other than what has been spoken about so many times before.

No energy, very lethargic, lackluster, sloppy, careless, poor at defending corners with the only difference in this game being the dismissal of captain Bruno Fernandes who was shown his marching orders for a second yellow.

A fair sending off in my opinion but it all stemmed from slow and sloppy play from Dalot and the skipper down the left which led to poor control and a weak attempt at trying to win the ball back from Bruno.

This was straight after the second half started which is now becoming another issue to add to the ever-growing list: terrible starts to the second half.

Bruno was sent off in the 48th minute leaving United a man down for an entire half. He is also the captain.

United were then let off the hook in that they didn’t suffer a second blow straightaway as Jorgen Strand Larsen was adjudged offside after putting the ball in the back of the net.

But we didn't have to wait long for the inevitable head drops and cockup.

Surprise surprise, United concede from a corner. But now we're not conceding from them in a traditional sense but rather from a more direct sense.

In form forward Matheus Cunha was a thorn in our side all game and much like Son Heung-Min in the Spurs loss, put the ball straight into the net direct from the corner.

Onana like his deputy Bayindir was weak in his attempt to try and get in front of the defender to get a clear punch on the ball resulting in this weak and embarrassing concession of a goal.

Wolves didn’t then put United to the sword as many might have expected as despite the triple substitution of Antony, Zirkzee and Casemiro for Ugarte, Hojlund and Yoro, Amorim’s side did next to nothing to indicate that they will come back into this one.

While there was a bit more from the away side towards the end of the match, it wasn’t enough and in the end, the home team broke away and managed to score a second in the last minute.

Game over and Vitor Pereira gets his second win in two games and one over fellow Portuguese Ruben Amorim who seriously has it all to do.

Not a happy Christmas for him.

I think the MUFC boss will be so disappointed with the lack of a reaction from his players after the terrible defeat at home to Bournemouth in which he said that United ‘lost some identity.’

That identity was still nowhere to be found as this was another forgettable performance. At no point did the players look like they wanted it.

Another poor start to a second half with a stupid foul and sending off for his captain, and we concede another goal from a corner, and a direct corner at that too. 2 goals conceded in that way in the last three games.

When asked post-match how long this tough period will last, Amorim said: “I have no idea.”

Neither do we Ruben. Neither do we.

Although if he could get rid of some (or all) of these players…

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
