Amorim was in front of the media once again ahead of United's Monday night trip to Wolves.
And once again, he was talking absolute garbage.
“You ask me always the same thing. I understand what you are saying. You love Kobbie. He starts for England, but that doesn’t mean I need to put Kobbie when I feel I shouldn’t put Kobbie.”
That was the manager's response when asked about Mainoo. Clearly, you can see the frustration from Amorim about these questions, much like the fans are frustrated with the manager's poor use of the player.
He remains unsure about Mainoo's game time once the AFCON rolls around but feels that if he performs well in training, he will play. "That is the only way I know how to respond to that."
Amorim says that Mainoo not getting many minutes is down to Bruno always being fit and playing in that same position. He pointed to the fact that Ugarte played when Casemiro was out.
On why another academy product isn't playing, Amorim says that Lacey is not an international like some of the other players in the team.

He says that his side are inconsistent as they "play good, sometimes we play bad" but that they are also not getting the results when it comes to whether there is a lack of belief in the team to take advantages of other teams dropping points.
Post the draw last night, Dalot said that the team was "anxious" and was a reason as to why the game ended in a stalemate. However, his manager disagrees with him as Amorim believes that the team wasn't anxious but rather, the atmosphere "because we proved in the past that nothing is certain here. But we didn't draw because of that."
The MUFC boss "just wants to win" and that he doesn't care about who the opponent is as he just tries to put the best players on the field.
Amorim knows that improvements need to be made ahead of the trip to Wolves as despite them being bottom of the table with no wins, with the current state of United "with us, it's always a tough match."
He's also not looking at the January transfer window at the moment even though there seems to be a lack of depth in the squad and quality in attack.
Final Thoughts
I don't actually know how to react to Amorim's pressers and interviews anymore. He used to be so honest and a man full of passion who showed how much it hurt him to see his side perform poorly. Letting down the fans was something else that he didn't like either.
Now though, it just seems like absolute shite.
This trying to justify why he's not playing Mainoo has to be some of the worst takes I've ever seen. I know that all managers talk a bit of shite but this, this is too much.
He's trying to say that he's not picking Mainoo because he's either not performing well enough in training for him to be selected or it's just because Bruno doesn't get injured. It's got nothing to do with the fact that the team and midfield in particular is a waste of time. It really depends on whether the captain gets injured or not.
So he's basically never going to play because Bruno never gets injured.
It seems almost personal at this point. There's literally no reason to not play him or even bring him on when looking at how games are going, yet the manager never does. Mainoo got zero minutes last night when we were playing crap, not controlling the game, could've used the 2nd goal, then definitely needed the 2nd after West Ham's equalizer, and yet even then, Amorim still refused to bring him on.
Two defensive players in Ugarte and Martinez were subbed on instead of a player who can make a difference and pop up with a goal.
We don't even play well sometimes. We are consistently AWFUL!
His whole tactics are based on long ball, counter-attacks, set-pieces and long throw-ins to score because we see no patterns of play, overlapping wing-backs, no crosses into the box, hardly any chances created. We have no identity.
We don't know what we're going to get from this side nor if they will show up or not.
This is why the one thing I agree with him on is that we do make every game really difficult because we're so inconsistent. Wolves on Monday should be an easy 3 points but with United, I don't know!
I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to get their first win of the season against us.
Saying that when about to play against one of the worst sides in the history of the Premier League is utterly embarrassing 🤮.
Not playing academy players is another feather in this unwanted cap as the youth is what we're all about. Youth. Courage. Success. That is our motto.
We see none of that under this manager.
You justnever know what a youngster can do if you don't play. They could be the difference between drawing to West Ham and winning. They could be the difference between European football and not. They could be the difference between being sacked and keeping your job.
He said the words 'I don't know' a lot in this presser.
When your manager is saying that as his response to questions does make you think whether he is the right man.
I don't know. What the fuck happened to this guy? 😔
