What's Going On With Amad?

I'm NOT Liking Where This Is Going 😬

We've been down this road before, even with Amad. This isn't the first time where's he's deleted everything from his socials but for some reason, I feel as if this time it's different.

I've been more concerned with his performances as he has been quite poor this season. At 23 years old, he is no youngster anymore. He is also a main member of the first team and as he has been at United for a while, expectations of him are off the scale.

This is all because we know what a quality player he is. The performances from last season showed us this as after captain Bruno Fernandes, Amad was a standout player.

He also displayed an ability to play as a RWB which is a position that we knew was a weakness of ours considering we had no one to fill it. However, after those performances, the Ivorian put some of those concerns to rest.

This season though, something just doesn't seem right.

ALL of his performances have been poor to average. He's been played as a no 10 and RWB and yet, has struggled to find any of the form he showed last year. I don't know where his best position is and considering we do have several options, it's no guarantee that he slots straight into the side.

On the other hand, with how much he's played, we can see that Amorim really rates him and wants him to be a part of his team.

But then he goes and does something that displays a bit of obliviousness and a lack of reading of the room. He isn't the first and probably won't be the last, but I would've expected more from a personality like him.

After our win over Chelsea, Amad was pictured with former Red Garnacho as the pair swapped shirts in the tunnel post-match. Amad had it on his Instagram and tagged the agency (LeaderS) which represents both players.

This caused a lot of people to be upset. One of them was myself.

I summed it all up in this video:

What do you think the problem is with Amad? Considering his performances, clearly something is amiss. I don't like these social media antics as it comes off as a little overdramatic in my view.

The positive is that perhaps he acknowledges that he hasn't played well and just wants to focus on his football by not worrying about things online. I also believe that the manager will continue to play him so he will continue to have plenty of opportunities.

Let's just hope he can find form soon. This is a BIG season for him. We need him.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
