To be honest, for him to be successful, it would probably be best for him to change his club 🤣.
I mean, when you look at all those who've left and seen how well they've done, I wouldn't be surprised if Amorim moved on and turned into the next Guardiola!
But for him to be a success at United (at least in the short-term and potentially long-term), I don't think he has to do too much in order to see some improvements to his team and play style.
The Changes
This might sound weird but I don't think we've been as awful as people make it seem in the first for games.
We were by far the better side against Arsenal on the opening day, we were superb for at least 10-15 minutes at Fulham where we should've scored 2 goals and had the game wrapped up then, the same issue against Burnley where we probably should've scored 3 more than we did in a deserved victory, and that 3-0 score line in the derby masks the overall performance. For a decent portion of it, United were well in the game but thanks to individual errors, we conceded 3 pathetic goals.
And I believe all those errors can be prevented with these three amendments:
1. Midfield
A pretty obvious one. Well, it appears obvious to us all other than the manager, and it isn't so much the entire midfield although the quartet we have available ain't the best, but more just one man who needs to be changed and you know who I'm talking about.

Bruno Fernandes is no central midfielder. He lacks positional discipline, he doesn't track runners, he can't control the game and his habit for wanting to go for the spectacular pass causes us to give the ball away cheaply and sometimes in dangerous areas.
He CANNOT play in this position.
This doesn't necessarily mean drop him as he can be moved further forward.
As a no 10, the magnifico truly lives up to his nickname as Bruno is quite magnificent. Since arriving at United in 2020, he has been one of the most creative players in football and he also happens to score a lot of goals (and important ones at that). All of this was done as an attacking midfielder.
Why take him away from that? What made Amorim adamant on starting his skipper in a deeper role that not only weakens your midfield making it easier for oppositions to play through us but also means taking away Bruno's best qualities which is as a creative genius?
Clearly, Amorim wants the skipper to play. That is fine only if he starts as a no 10. I know he is quite a divisive player regardless of where he plays but I do believe those who don't like Bruno would at least be more forgiving should he play in his best position.
United are still a side that don't create too many chances. Mbeumo's outta nowhere volley and a bit of a flourish towards the end of the derby, were the only real opportunities we had. However, you won't say they were big chances.
Even though we've played well in general, we still struggle to make anything of note in the final third and specifically for the striker. Sesko, much like his predecessors, was in a graveyard shift up front on Sunday.
We know that the no 9 not getting service has been a problem for a while but this was down to selfishness from the likes of Rashford, Antony and Garnacho. Bruno can be as well but he does create more than not.
With Cunha and Mbeumo in the team, there are two more creative players along with Bruno who can make chances. That selfishness is removed. Perhaps we'll then start to see more of Sesko like the chance he had where he ran in behind City's defense only for the referee to call it back for whatever offense.
Those are the type of chances we want to see for the striker.
Pushing the captain further forward would also mean room for someone like Mainoo to come into the midfield.
And we all want to see that happen.
2. Start Lammens
I think it's time we see this lad in goal. There is not much we know about him, but that may not necessarily be a bad thing as we know enough about Bayinidir.
Lammens is young, inexperienced, playing in the PL for the first time and is coming into the shitshow that is Man Utd. I believe a lot of people will give him some leeway because of this.
Putting him in the team will also give him time to get used to the pace of the league and get used to his new teammates. The sooner this happens the better and it will give us more of an opportunity to see whether he is good enough or not.
There's no point buying him and then benching him especially for a goalkeeper who is kinda crap like Bayindir. I think it's safe to say that no one feels confident with the Turk in goal particularly his defense.
He cannot be starting anymore.
3. Right Wing-Back
I believe this area of the pitch may have gone under the radar for how poor it's actually been. Amorim is struggling to find the ideal RWB as all of Dalot, Amad and Mazraoui have been used there with none showing any real prowess to nail down that position.
Dorgu may not be the best LWB going around but he does seem to be doing okay although his decision-making and overall quality in the final third leaves a lot to be desired with. As the Dane is young however, we are giving him more of a chance compared to some others.
At RWB though, Mazraoui is too defensive and not attacking enough, Amad is too attacking and not defensive enough, while Dalot is shit at both.
For me, out of the current squad, the ideal right wing-back has to be Bryan Mbeumo.

I know that we didn't buy him for this role but with his work rate that he had to have at Brentford and quality in the final third, Mbeumo ticks more of the boxes than any other for this position.
He's work rate as mentioned is top notch, he will have had to do a lot of defensive work under Thomas Frank which would help out here, he has the ability to get up and down the pitch quite well, is relative fast, can create up front and does have a good build to him unlike someone like Amad.
This may take away his best qualities as an attacking midfielder but it's not as though we don't have several options for those two positions whereas at right wing-back, we are weak.
Although they are injured at the moment, Cunha and Mount can play at no 10, Zirkzee is an option, like I said Bruno can (and should) play as an attacking midfielder and even if Amorim wants Amad in the side, he can play alongside the captain.
In such a situation, you will keep your captain on the field but in a more advanced role, Amad as one of our better attackers is still in the side and in his best position of no 10, Mbeumo is still on the pitch albeit a bit out of position but not one completely unknown to him, and you get Mainoo in midfield as well which could provide more balance next to someone like Casemiro or Ugarte.
A lot of people also like Mazraoui as we can see he is a player who gives everything is whenever he plays. That isn't something we can say for a few of them and characters such as these are needed in the team. I'd like him to play too.
I would start him as right centre-back alongside De Ligt and Yoro. Shaw has been average to poor this season and needs dropping. With a back three of Yoro, De Ligt and Mazraoui, I would feel a lot more confident than any other available trio.
Mazraoui also looks a lot better as a RCB and Yoro is more than capable of playing LCB.
Ideal Lineup
Lammens
Mazraoui, De Ligt, Yoro
Mbeumo, Mainoo, Casemiro, Dorgu
Amad, Bruno
Sesko
This looks like a solid lineup. It maintains certain players while bringing in others we want to see and dropping those who needs dropping. There is also more of a balance to it especially in that midfield.
I know this may sound like I know more than Amorim although it appears as if everyone knows more than him at the moment, but I really do believe that such simple changes could have a huge effect on the team and play style.
There is also no changes to the formation which is something we know the manager is going to deviate from. He would also like to play in the same style instead of abandoning his principles. Again, this team gives him more of a chance to see 'Amorim ball' come to life than any other lineup we could put out.
Yes the problems at the football club go beyond just what we see on the pitch but a decent amount of them will be solved if we play good football and win.
As hard as that may seem, Amorim should just put aside his pride with certain things or certain players and do what's best for the team. This could also help his future as manager. Whether such changes would work or not is another matter but it wouldn't hurt to try.
I mean, how much worse can it get?
You can't tell me that that lineup doesn't fill you with a bit more optimism than the ones we've been seeing so far?
