I am not surprised. A little disappointed but as we've seen this before - and my gut was telling me we could cock up this game - drawing to a relegation side through a flat performance doesn't shock me.

We've been here before. Many times.

I don't blame Carrick too much for what happened. He's only been here for five games, he's an interim and in terms of his selection, you can't argue with sticking to a winning team. His substitutions made a difference as two Yoro tackles prevented defeat and Sesko scored the late equalizer that got us a point which keeps us in 4th after Chelsea drew as well.

You gotta look at those players.

How flat were they? That was one boring game as we did little to trouble the Hammers whom I thought had a very comfortable game and were full value for the draw.

United were slow, lethargic, lacked ideas on how to break down a low block (as usual) and without those moments or set-pieces to bail us out, we were lost.

I felt that there were good openings at times out wide or in the final third but due to poor decision-making or moving the ball too slowly, the chance was gone.

Amad and Mbeumo both had opportunities to use the extra man in very similar situations yet chose to hold onto the ball. Great examples of how United were unlike their recent selves in this game.

Both teams did very little to trouble either goalkeeper although another smart corner routine saw ex-Red Aaron Wan-Bissaka clear the ball off the line after a shot from Shaw.

Speaking of the defender, how shit has Shaw become? Like c'mon man, the 'defending' for that goal was pathetic.

For West Ham to have the ball under pressure at their corner flag and then be celebrating a couple seconds later indicates poor work at the back. Shaw letting that clearance bounce and then allowing Jarrod Bowen - one of the shortest players on the field - to win the header was criminal.

Mainoo not tracking the run of Thomas Soucek was unacceptable either. The midfielder then went on to score a simple goal to make it 1-0.

It was interesting to see how United would respond because in three of Carrick's four matches, we took the lead. Only at Arsenal did we go behind but thanks to that Martin Zubimendi assist, got back on level terms.

That wasn't forthcoming in this match as United would have to make the chance themselves.

That wasn't to be as other than an offside Casemiro header and a later header by substitute Zirkzee which kissed the post, we did next to nothing to suggest we were getting back into this.

Luckily though, we were all spared our blushes as Sesko scored that 96th minute equalizer. A quite superb finish to make it 4 goals in his last five.

I think he deserves a start.

Drawing is not the worst result but looking at the performance, you can't help but feel this is more the United we know rather than the one we've been seeing in the interim's previous four matches.

On the manager, Carrick could have perhaps changed the lineup due to potential fatigue of picking the exact same team a couple of days later so as to keep things a little fresh, but that shouldn't be an excuse for this type of performance.

You could argue that maybe his substitutions needed to be made sooner as something different was required.

Other than that, I don't look at the manager as someone who was at fault.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
