The Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has resurfaced as a potential striker target for Man Utd, as he was back in 2023 when it was between him and Rasmus Hojlund for who would be the main man up top at Old Trafford.

Obviously we went a certain way and people probably think, what was wrong with us, but anyway, we move.

And we potentially move to Sesko.

We all know that United's priority position is striker (and goalkeeper, wing-back, midfielder, no 10 😐) although with Cunha and Mbeumo, it seems that maybe United didn't know we needed to improve the no 9 position.

As we've lost out on Gyokeres (he appears set on joining ARSEnal), Osimhen wants to go to Turkey (Galatasaray) and Delap joined the Blues, United are now down to targets 4, 5 and 6.

The Manchester World have said that "Man Utd have been offered Benjamin Sesko" and that there's a potential fee worth £85m for the 22 year old.

Ben Jacobs [Man Utd News] has also come out with a statement that the interest United have in Sesko "might still have legs" but due to that high asking price, it might be a deal that is too hard to do.

He's been linked to quite a few clubs (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool) but other than a potential move to join Arteta's process, none of the other clubs were truly interested in him.

With Arsenal preferring Gyokeres, Chelsea signing Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, LFC going for Hugo Ekitike or Alexander Isak, United might have a free run in the Sesko race.

You know how we like to be the only club in for a player.

Sesko was highly desired by Mikel Arteta as it seemed for all the money that he would be going to The Emirates. And one of the reasons why the Gunners stopped pursuing the Leipzig man was down to the fact that they might literally have had to pay all the money for him. A deal from around £70m-£85m plus add-ons was what was wanted, as is the case for United. This made the move difficult for Arsenal who have now decided to go for Amorim's former man Gyokeres.

Another factor to consider is that he signed a contract extension until 2029 which would make trying to sign him for anyone quite difficult.

I'm not going to go too in-depth in this post because it's nothing too concrete and with such a high asking price, I doubt we'll even sign him. We still have to get this Mbeumo deal done and hopefully focus on outgoings thereafter but Benjamin Sesko is certainly someone to keep an eye on.

I do think he's a good player but like so many others, he too is a risk, and are United in a position to be taking risks?

If he joins, of course I think it's safe to say that we'll all back him and he will no doubt be an improvement to Hojlund and Zirkzee but we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
