A day early comes Michael Carrick's Spurs presser due to the anniversary of the Munich air disaster tomorrow. He spoke to the media to address all things injuries, Spurs and the most important day in our history.

Mason Mount missed last week's win over Fulham through a knock he picked up in training. He still hasn't recovred despite the interim saying he'll be back sooner than Matthijs De Ligt, a player who last featured for United in November.

On Spurs, Carrick says that they have good attackers who look to stretch the back line and that it's something United have to be careful about.

"They certainly bring a challenge", said Carrick of his former club. He talks about how injuries have caused Thomas Frank to have to make several changes which made things more difficult for him and his selections.

Here is my preview for the game. I say all I need to on there about what to expect and it is going to be a tough game.

With it being the 68th anniversary of the Munich air disaster, the interim boss mentions how ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson told him about how important this is to the club. "It's a responsibility to know what came before us and the behaviours and responsibilities we need to carry through."

Carrick feels that things have become a lot clearer in terms of what they wanted to look like since he and his coaches arrived at Old Trafford. The 44-year-old says that having a tough start to life in the dugout sort of helped them all become more "focused and alive."

Final Thoughts

Munich. This is the most important part of our history.

What happened on that night will never be forgotten.

How the club managed to bounce back after such a tragedy is the perfect example of who United are. We know that we've had some dark days - some would say we're going through dark days at the moment due to our owners - but we always seem to find a way to fight back.

That's the spirit of the Busby Babes inside everyone associated with Man Utd.

I always get sad when I think about it. And it is sad. To think what that side were and how great they could've become, makes it even sadder still.

That's why whenever I put on the kit, there is the memory of them in it as well. We have to always remember what they did in this shirt and carry their legacies on every time we play.

I sometimes feel the players forgot that if they knew it in the first place given the multitude of disappointing performances we've had over the years.

If they played with the spirit if the Busby Babes, we would win more oft than not.

We need to do so for them on Saturday.

After three weeks, I'm sure Carrick and his staff have a much better idea of where the club are at and what needs to be done in order to achieve success this season.

So far, he's managed to change a few things that have allowed us to not just win, but win in a manner that entertains us even if it isn't quite 'the United way.' We look forward to games now and there is a belief that we may get the win.

That flat atmosphere was the first thing he needed to change. And he did.

Now, it's about trying to be consistent and showing that this isn't just a new manager bounce or simply good vibes that are getting us these important wins.

Spurs provide the perfect opportunity to display just that given their quality, style of play and the recent history.

Yeah, I can talk and talk and talk about the things I love, like football and United, as you can see in this post. Once I get on a roll, it's pretty hard to stop me. This is all coming from a guy who doesn't talk that much. How weird.
