Big news dropped by David Ornstein which would bring back that MASSIVE smile on Ruben Amorim's face. Actually, it's put a smile on all of our faces π.
To get this a day after the official confirmation of Matheus Cunha is mad!
Ornstein says that "Bryan Mbeumo decides he wants to join Man Utd & #MUFC now expected to open talks with Brentford in bid to sign 25yo forward this summer. Likes of #AFC #NUFC #THFC all interested but Cameroon int'l favours Old Trafford if deal agreed."
WOW!
Nobody can tell us the Man Utd pull isn't real. Despite being almost relegated, trophyless and complete shite, the fact that we can still attract good players is not something that can be said of many.
For Mbeumo to turn down all of Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs (all rivals of ours, all in the Champions League and all better than us) tells you that other clubs, regardless of their position, just doesn't have the allure of United.

I'm excited by this. I think we all are. Of course nothing has been completed but the fact that we're in this position of just needing to agree a deal is a huge step and could allow us to bring him in early.
Only the 2nd of June and we already have Cunha and potentially Mbeumo! Two PL proven, ready-made players who understand the system and are a great age besides means that our two no 10 positions are all but sorted. And we still have Mount, Mainoo, Zirkzee, Amad and potentially Bruno if he stays.
I did this post before this news about who will be Cunha's ideal partner at no 10. I think we may have found him.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals and grabbed 9 assists in 42 matches for Brentford. New signing Cunha netted 17 goals whilst claiming 6 assists in just 36 games while United's skipper Bruno Fernandes had 19 goals and 19 assists although he played way more matches than the other two with 57.
If Mbeumo joins and we add a top striker ahead of him and Cunha whilst keeping the likes of Amad, Mount, Mainoo, Zirkzee and who knows, maybe Bruno will look at this business and think twice about leaving (if he is), then I don't think I'm wrong in saying this but,
We're winning the Premier League π€·ββοΈ.
