It looks like the end is nigh with Ruben Amorim as he suffered his 264th defeat as United manager, or as close as makes no matter.
Amorim once again failed to win back-to-back games as MUFC boss as his side were utter shite and deservedly loss to Brentford in a match that had several similarities to the defeat at Grimsby.
Poor from the start, conceding stupid goals, not creating enough in attack, lack of intensity, energy and just overall care for a game that we absolutely had to win.
I don't even want to break that game down into halves and talk about how we conceded the goals and not really showing anything that would suggest we would come back into a game where our best tactic was to launch long throw-ins. Dalot ran from RWB to the opposite flank in order to take said long throw.
We have to start with that starting lineup, again.
These type of teams are acceptable if it wins, like it did against Chelsea although we were helped thanks to that early red card. But when it fails, then serious questions need to be asked.
Still not using your new goalkeeper (Bayindir was sort of shit - he kept us in the game at times but did cost us a little with the third), Maguire starts over Yoro (don't even know what to say about that), Bruno in the midfield...
No substitutions until after an hour when we needed to change things after the 2nd goal in 20 minutes.
The worst thing is we can all see these mistakes and yet the manager keeps persisting with these players and tactics and everything else that didn't work.
The man who he sort of put all his cards on in Bruno was awful (again), picked up a yellow and ran the risk of getting a second like Casemiro last week, and the once reliable penalty-taker missed his second spot kick in a couple of games which a shit penalty.
Why not take him off? There is nothing wrong with that and we'd all actually apprecitae it.
All managers seem to do this thing where they go back to the so-called 'experienced leaders' in Maguire, Shaw, Bruno and Dalot in order to save them their job even though they've sacked several managers. They also haven't won much in their careers.
I don't know where we go from here. That team was not long-term and Amorim's decision-making is truly sacking himself. For anyone who wants him gone, they just have to wait a little longer and he will be gone due to poor selections, substitutions and tactics.
I feel like we all say the same things about the manager and players and so to keep repeating ourselves is just boring. The fact that the manager cannot see what's going or is choosing not to is a HUGE problem. It's either that or he is sacking himself to get that £12m payout.
It's not even the loss (or losses) anymore but how we are losing. That was garbage and tbh, Brentford should've scored more. The Bees absolutely deserved to win.
Even with a week off, we either look the same or somehow worse. So what the fuck are we doing on the training ground?
I want Amorim to do well and I don't want to sack another manager but I don't know what he's trying to do and if I'm being completely honest, I feel like Amorim doesn't know what he's doing.
